Choosing Action While We Wait Discussion Guide Surprisingly, the Christmas story begins in fear for those most directly involved. We can learn a lot from how they responded. The shepherds didn’t waste time waiting in fear. Instead, they urgently acted in faith. They accepted God’s word, and the angel’s invitation and: 1) went immediately to find Jesus, 2) witnessed and became witnesses of the Good News, and 3) worshiped God as they returned to their work. As a result of their action, a song of praise replaced the shepherd's fear. The same can be true for us. What does it look like to choose action while we wait?
