This five-week series takes a new look at an old parable told by Jesus (Luke 15: 11-32). They label many of our Bibles the Parable of the Lost Son. With our focus upon family during the month of February, a better title for the parable would be: The Parable of the Two Lost Sons.
As we study this parable to learn how God relates to two lost sons, we will also focus on how we should reflect these same virtues within our family and friendships. This practical and challenging series will focus upon how both sons rebelled against the Father—one selfish and immoral and the other by being obedient as a strategy for rebelling against the Father. Religious people often live moral lives but their goal is to get leverage over God so He owes them and they can control Him.
Our hope and prayer is that this series will help our family's experience freedom, unconditional forgiveness, humility and help each of us love within our context.
